Sing to me, my muse And let your voice ring 'cross the web of time Then dance for me, muse And let your rhythm resonate with mine Then close your eyes tight And let our dreams melt into this sweet rhyme So we might dream a dream of Paradise.

I needed to draw Kai again and this time I realized something. I have been dubbing him as a fursona or original character, but Kai really isn't either of those things. The truth is that he is a muse. This submission contains both a piece as well as a poem. Yes. I wrote the poem and drew the piece. Materials are copics, prismacolor markers, colored pencil, gel pen, watercolors, calligraphy ink and a brain-to-hand coordination combo.
This character as it stands reminds me of a representation of the Black Butler in that tuxedo. The color as it is is vibrant and to the form of this creature does seem to resonate of one that is neither good nor bad, but just in the matter of some is. As a face head on pose that is pretty good in the way you drew that look and pulled off the realism of how a person would look facing directly to the viewer. The wings as they fold around this wolf are superb, as I can disgustingly tell the difference of lets say demonic wing with claw and object in its wing; to angel feathered wing of still greyscale value, to me showing the concept of a divided soul. The way it also is passing the blood Ace of spades is good to perspective form as well Some of the thing I do more as an of in wonder question are things such as like the spiders web for example; it looks metallic, but to me more so I think they should have been set thinner to look more realistic, at present I get more the feel of metal sculpture. The bird is another, the look is a bit flat as compared to the defined details of say the wolf itself, as I am not sure is it meant to be like say a raven or of some other species, its claws also look like they are melting. A thing I also notice is the eyes, (now this just may be the effect of your scanner) but thy look blood shot over demonic possessed. The things I am neutral to are like the background, as it is abstract and therefor is up to interpretation by the viewer; I say it is based on color, the bareness of hell fire. The poem you also made for this image is also smooth flows well and is also left to interpretation, as you wrote it you know its true meaning. Sill can covey an array of meaning to this image, a very fine piece you have constricted here, in your traditional manner.
This is awesome. I absolutely love the background and all of the detail you've put nto this. And his pose and expression--something about his eyes just draw you in. Nice work.
Thanks! Haha, yeah. . I use way to many different things in one image! But it's a lot of fun, I love working with the ink/paint combo and an exact-o-knife. C:
I used it to make this card into a two-layer card. The wolf and swirls are on the top layer with everything else cut away to show the blue background under it C:
wooooow thats cool! Must have been hard to cut the little bits off! I didn't enev notice that it had 2 layers until you told me! now I can see a bit XD
