Man. That is amazing. First things first! I love the position you have come up with for Wolf Link. It really fits his expression, and also shows off his patterns of green shades and white. Excellent job with that! Another thing that I really like about this drawing is that the gradual gradient of the browns in the background make a nice touch and contrast with Wolf Link's green and beige-white colors. It makes him stand out of the drawing, making him say, "Hey! I'm here." The bleached parts of the background give it a nice cloudy dream affect that represents fantasy. I'm guessing you made that affect with salt and watercolor? The shading and highlights were placed nicely, showing off the light source is ahead of him. Putting shadows under each piece of fur makes nice layering, and I can tell you put lots of effort into doing that. Also, on the "furless" areas (as I call it, like the legs and face), you also put nice, smooth shading. Great job with that! There are only a few improvements I should point out. First off, I kind of thought Wolf Link's back fur, which is the darker green, should've been in more sperate pieces of fur instead of a lot of big pieces (if you understand what I mean). They look a bit more like scales than fur a bit. You can also put some more streaks of fur inside each piece to make a more furry texture, as similar as you did with his shoulder and hind legs. Then, it will have more of a furry look than scaly look. Another improvement, which is more minor, is Wolf Link's cheek fur. Again, it looks a bit too scaly. Try making it flow in different directions so it will look more like fur. ^^ Otherwise, I thought this was an amazing piece. I can't wait for more!
Well this is bigger than the usual ACEOs I see you do and also the use of green is a nice twist of color choice. The color in this case going from olive on the body to the more emerald green mane that he has with top of the tail, and darker looking towards the top of the head. Also I think the pose along with the chain on his paw male clear indications of the fact that this is Link's character in Twilight princess. The other fact of interest though is he fact that this image is bold for the fact that not in the game or in your art usually do I see gender defining marks such as seen here as the sheath and balls showing; it adds a more true to life element that would be seen in like PBS programs. Now I am not sure if as imagery it implies mature content, but I like the way it just is all the same.
Yes, I have to make a few larger pieces since I am going to a convention in May. Anyways, yes, I always hate it when people draw a male animal character with no sheath! It makes no sense to me. But that is just my opinion. Like you said also, since it is just like a PBS show, I don't think there is a need for mature content - after all, animals can't be charged with nudity since they don't wear clothing in the first place.
